Safety guidance
-
Only use wax melts in wax burners. Oil burners are NOT suitable for melting wax. Oil burners tend to be a lot smaller than wax burners and can cause the wax to get too hot. They are not designed to be suitable for wax melts.
-
Remove all packaging before using your products.
-
Only use ONE tea light in a burner at any time.
-
ALWAYS put your wax burner or candle on a heat proof mat/plate.
-
Ensure your candle/burner is on a level surface.
-
Do not place candle/burner near a heat source.
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended and never go to sleep with a candle still burning.
-
Keep your active candle/burner out of drafts, vents, ceiling fans and air currents.
-
Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets.
-
Never touch or move a candle or burner when the wax is liquid.
-
Do not burn candles/ melt wax melts for longer than 2 hours at any one time (even if this involves using numerous tea lights.)
-
Always snuff out your candle. It’s safer than blowing them, which can send sparks and hot wax flying.
-
Double check that the candle is put out properly. Candles that have been put out can go on smoldering and start a fire.
-
Don’t put candles/burners near curtains or other fabrics – or furniture.
-
Don’t put candles/burners under shelves. It’s easy to forget that there’s a lot of heat above a burning candle. If you put them under a shelf or other surface then it can burn the surface. Make sure there’s at least one meter between a candle and any surface above it.
